Baylie’s current body of work attempts to encompass a current explorative phase of life– the beauty, the sex, the daring– all lovely things encased in a hard shell of illness and struggle. She is fascinated by the duality of life and loss of control, as evidenced by her chosen medium and method of abstract art, pastels rubbed into a canvas with punchy words and colors layered on top, messages of frustration and joy meddled together.
